MAGWAY DIVISION – Min Hla Township People’s Defence Organization reported that the junta council ordered the administration officers to convince the youth of Min Hla Township to receive military training and be equipped with weapons by the junta council.
On June 15, the ward and village administrators were called to a meeting and the junta council ordered that 10 to 15 youths per village must be registered to attend military training.
“These young people understand that this is simply asking them to die protecting the junta council’s interests and the position that the military council has unjustly seized,” said Mr. Yan Gyi Aung, the officer in charge of Min Hla Township People’s Defence Organization.
He added that back in 2022, the junta council similarly arranged to give military training to the young people living in the villages by drawing lots but the youths who were picked fled to China, Malaysia Thailand.
“They have tried it before and failed. The whole country can see the lies and false news spread by the junta council as well as the atrocities committed by junta forces, so, I don’t think the people will accept this program,” he said.
It is reported that the young people from villages such as Mee Lon Gon, Lappantakha, Shan Tat, Pe Taw and Kan Kyaw are fleeing because the military council is arranging said military training for the youths.
The Township People’s Defence Organization has also announced on June 16, asking the young people living in Minhla Township to not be deceived and attend the military training just to be used and killed for the junta regime, and warned to not cooperate in any matters handled by the military council, saying that they will take effective and decisive action against those who do so.
