MANDALAY DIVISION-According to people who are helping Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs), there is an urgent need for food and medicine for more than 1,000 refugees in three IDP camps in the eastern part of Madaya Township.
“We want the people’s help. If the fighting continues, we may not be able to help for food. One refugee camp only had a 2 days quota of rice,” said the supporter.
He added that there are around 100 children under the age of 10 in the above stated IDP camps and pregnant women, and injured people on the way to flee, and they also need tetanus vaccines.
Madaya Township People’s Defense Team officials also said that the people fleeing the war are in need of food aid and that the people should help.
After the announcement of the 1027 operation, the terrorist military junta troops targeted civilians. Because they patrolled the villages, residents of about 10 villages, including villages such as Kin Ywar, Bo Kone and Kyaukse, have been fleeing their homes since the first week of November.
In Madaya township last November, 19 people died at the hands of terrorists military junta troops, and in the first and second week of December, three women were killed and some children were injured.
