MANDALAY DIVISION – More than 1,000 civilians have been forced to flee as the fascist troops are reportedly launching attacks towards the western part of Madaya Township and firing heavy weapons.
The junta troops of about 50 in strength invaded Thone Sal Pay Village with three high speed ferries and a green iron body flat ship at around 2 a.m. on December 20.
After that, those junta thugs brought along the soldiers stationed at Thone Sal Pay Village at about 6:00 a.m., and attacked again. Along the way, the terrorist soldiers torched civilians’ houses near Daung Kyun Village, a local resident said.
In addition, the junta troops stationed at the Kywe Chan Kone Village located at the east of Daung Kyun Village fired heavy weapons towards the surrounding area.
“It is not yet known how much the houses were damaged. Heavy weapons fired from the junta army stationed at the Kywe Chan Kone landed on the cow barn and hit many cows,” said a local resident in the west of Madaya Township.
More than 400 residents of Daung Kyun (South) and Daung Kyun (North) Village, and other 1,000 residents of the villages along the Irrawaddy river are said to be fleeing for safety.
At present, the junta military column seems to be planning to rampage Daung Kyun Village.
Similarly, the junta council has been reinforcing its troops in the eastern part of Madaya Township, local residents reported.
