MANDALAY DIVISION – It has been reported that there is not enough electricity in the industrial zone of Mandalay, and the junta council has prohibited some industries from operating with electricity.
In the industrial zone of Mandalay City’s Pyi Gyi Takhon township, the industrial works, including bronze, aluminum, metal, iron casting industries, and metal drawing industries, said that the Mandalay Electricity Corporation, under the Junta Council, had sent a letter yesterday not to use electric power.
“It’s been a long time since we’ve been working with our generator. The electricity just doesn’t come,” said an entrepreneur in Mandalay Industrial Zone.
If the power is available, it will be notified again, and if the power is being consumed, not only will action be taken, but the power will be cut off.
Residents said that Mandalay’s current power supply system is a 4-hour on and 8-hour off system.
Not only Mandalay, but the whole country is facing an irregular supply of electricity, and industrialists are facing difficulties in continuing their business operations.
The military council has admitted that it can only produce 50 percent of the country’s electricity needs.
According to the announcement of the Ministry of Military Council of Electricity, Yangon was 46 percent. 16 percent to Mandalay and 38 percent has been allocated to the rest of the country.
