MANDALAY DIVISION – No More Dictatorship People’s Defence Force (NMD), a guerrilla group in Mandalay, announced that they carried out a bomb attack on the Upotetaw Ward Administrative Office, near 73rdand 8th Streets in Aung Myay Tharzan Township at around 8 p.m. on Friday (May 19).
“We set off an explosion at the Upotetaw Ward Administrative Office using improvised explosive devices. This office has been a supporting pillar of the military council’s administrative mechanism,” stated No More Dictatorship-NMD Force.
Mandalay scout groups also reported that the junta forces came to the administrative office after the blast and went on a rampage.
No More Dictatorship People’s Defence Force – NMD force has been successively conducting urban guerrilla missions against the junta council in Mandalay these days.
On the night of May 11, NMD made a bomb attack on the junta troops guarding the electrical power office, which supplies 24hr electricity to junta affiliates but only an hour of electricity for a whole day to the locals, on the 78th street of Ngwetaw Kyikone Ward, Pyigyitakon Township.
NMD members also detonated a police car parked in front of the Veterans Office beside Shwetachaung Canal, on 86th Street, on the morning of May 10.
In addition, during the attack on the Administrative Office in Mhantan Ward, Amarapura Township on the evening of May 5, three non-CDM employees including a deputy general manager were reportedly killed, according to No More Dictatorship People’s Defence Force (NMD).
