MANDALAY DIVISION – Junta’s lackey administrators in Mandalay City have been urging people in various wards to register guests list on Wednesday morning (February 21), locals reported.
Local residents are forced to register their guest’s name by February 21 and those registered before to be informed for extension.
After the conscription law came into effect, the residents said that now only they faced shouting over the loudspeaker to register the guest list.
It was announced with loudspeakers at Chanmyathazi, Pyigyitagon, Patheingyi and Amarapura townships.
The temporary guests are allowed to stay 14 days or up to a month. Junta lackey administrators charge from 2000 to 5000 kyats per guest for registration.
Recently on the morning of February 4, junta soldiers inspected the households in Nweni Village of Patheingyi Township, located near Mandalay Hill, and those guests who did not register, people who do not have Identification cards with them and those who were not able to show household list were being abducted and extorted money.
The junta council’s spokesperson admitted that there have been interrogating and arresting of those guests who didn’t register their stay in another place, and those who were not able to their household name list.
