MANDALAY DIVISION – The licenses of three out of five private hospitals in Mandalay, which were temporarily closed for employing CDM doctors and medical staff, were forcibly revoked by the junta council, according to the community of Mandalay CDM doctors.
On May 15, the order by the Central Team of Private Health Care Service Providers, signed by Dr. Myat Wunna Soe, the director general from the junta council’s Ministry of Health mentioned that Palace Hospital, City Hospital and Gangaw Hospital failed to follow the rules and regulations mentioned on the license of the law of Private Health Care Service Providers, and that thrir licenses have been revoked since January 1, 2023.
City Hospital, Palace Hospital, Gangaw Hospital, Htet Nay Lin Hospital and Seinpan Hospital, five popular private hospitals in Mandalay, were closed by the junta council at the end of December, 2022.
“The licenses of three of the five hospitals were revoked. The status of the remaining two is not known yet. We are observing if they will also have their licenses revoked or if they will be allowed to reopen. The main reason for revoking the license is that the hospitals were accused of employing CDM staff and of being involved in the revolution,” as said by the Mandalay CDM medical community.
