MANDALAY DIVISION – The junta council has reported that they have arrested four criminals who killed a man, returning home after sending children to school, and robbed his motorcycle in Chan Aye Tha San Township, Mandalay.
Last Monday (February 19) around 1:00 p.m., a murder and motorcycle robbery case occurred on 53rd Street, between 28th and 29th Street, Kankauk Ward, Chan Aye Tha San Township. According to the CCTV footage of the incident that emerged on social media, the motorcycle rider was stopped in the front by two motorcycles and four people who then stabbed and cut him.
The man, who died at the scene of the incident with stab wounds, was from Maha Aung Myay Township. It has been investigated that he is a 49-year-old father of two children who lives in Maha Myaing Ward.
“When the incident came up on CCTV, people criticized it, so the (junta council’s Central Military Command) pushed for their arrest,” said a person close to the Mandalay junta council administration. The military council reported that those who looted and killed were caught within 35 hours.
The four people arrested by the junta council are two 17-year-olds, one 18-year-old and a 22-year-old.
