KACHIN STATE – A Kachin Independence Army (KIA) source confirmed that the commander of junta infantry division 88, Brigadier General Min Htut Oo, was killed in the battle near Mannawng Village and Konglaw Village in Momauk Township.
On March 29 around 4 p.m., KIA and KPDF joint forces engaged in a battle against the junta forces from Division 88 that ran away from Khayabum and Bumyaybum camps and Division 88 Commander Brigadier General Min Htut Oo was killed in that battle. The division 88 deserters are said to be staying at Mannawng Village and other villages.
“The death of Division 88 Commander Brigadier General Min Htut Oo was confirmed by military sources as well. He died at Mannawng battle,” said the KIA source.
Brigadier General Min Htut Oo is a graduate of DSA batch 42 and was recently awarded the military service medal on January 4, 2024 by the terrorist junta chief Min Aung Hlaing under order no. 5/2024.
