RAKHINE STATE- Charity groups have informed us that there were over 10,000 households in Kyuk Thaw Township; most households were destroyed with the roofs damaged, and over 30 people were injured without having died due to the Mocha cyclone on May 14 in the northern Rakhine State.
Apart from Ponngyun township in Rakhine State, houses and buildings were damaged in Sittwe, Kyuktaw, Maungdaw, Mrauk U, Gwa, Pauktaw, Myebon, Rathedaung, Budidaung, Minbya, Ann, and Thandwe townships, and communication lines have been cut off in some townships due to Cyclone Mocha. On May 12, SAC and the national disaster management committee announced a warning that Sittwe, Paukdaw, Maungdaw, Rarhedaung, Myebon, Kyuk Phyu, and Man Aung townships were red-level areas with high risks for disaster.
