KACHIN STATE – Locals stated that Mr. Gwam Jawli, an activist of Kachin Ethnic and ward/village matters, member of Pat Jasan and former clergyman of Nam Ma Tee Town, Moe Kaung Township, Kachin State was said to be shot at his Jan Khar computer shop by three gunmen on Monday (March 18) at around noon and died on the way to the hospital after being hit five gunshots in his head and abdomen.
“Three people came with motorcycles and shot him. His was assumed to have died on the spot after being shot. His head burst open. As per current information, the gunmen are said to possibly be Pyu Saw Htee (junta-backed militia),” a local said.
In addition, Mr. Gwam Jawli is one of the former missionaries from Kachin Baptist Convention (KBC).
