KACHIN STATE – KIA comrades captured the Kyauk and Mada Bum junta camps, located two miles away from Moemauk Town and seven miles away from Banmaw Town, on Tuesday (April 2) evening, according to a KIA source.
During the capture, junta council soldiers fled from their camps. “Recently, the junta soldiers fired briefly and then fled. KIA captured Hkawan Bang and Mada Bum on the same day. Hkawan Bang is two miles away from Moemauk Town, and seven miles away from Moemauk to Banmaw. The junta infantry battalion – 437 was stationed at the entrance of Moemauk Town towards the Banmaw Road. The junta soldiers were gathering there,” said a source.
On April 1, KIA captured the Sein Lon Strategic Camp in Moemauk Township, along with junta troops from the Banmaw-Lwegel Road section to Banmaw and Moemauk Townships.
Currently, KIA has captured over 63 junta camps since commencing official operations on March 7.
