KACHIN STATE – A Kachin Independence Army (KIA) source stated that the Maisak Kaung (aka Madabum) camp was completely captured on Wednesday morning (April 3) and some weapons and ammunition were seized.
On April 2, the Kyauk camp was completely captured, but the Maisak Kaung (aka Madabum) camp was only partially seized. It was reported that the camp could not be occupied on that day but was completely taken over in the morning of April 3.
“Madabum camp could almost be seized yesterday (April 2). By 11 a.m. on April 3, the area was cleared and completely seized. Some weapons and ammunition were confiscated. Most of the junta soldiers had fled the camp,” said a KIA source.
The KIA source said that only a few battalions of the junta council remain near Momauk Township and the fights may intensify in the Town soon, and advised the locals to be prepared in advance.
