KACHIN STATE – KIA comrades captured the junta artillery force battalion – 370 in Moemauk Township on Saturday (March 23) at 7:10 a.m., said a military source.
KIA started attacking the Naung Kon heavy artillery shells battalion – 370, Nwan Lan infantry Battalion – 438, and Improvised Rocket Battalion – 616 on March 21. On that day, KIA captured the Rocket Battalion and IB – 438, and on March 23, KIA captured battalion – 370.
The junta soldiers from that battalion are fleeing, and KIA continues the operation as the main junta camps are still at Moemauk Township.
Since March 7, KIA has launched an offensive at the junta camps simultaneously. Within two weeks of operation, KIA comrades captured around 40 junta camps in Moemauk, Wingmaw, Laiza, Sumprabum, Tanai, and Hpakant Regions.
Among them, over 10 junta camps are core to the junta council, said Major Naw Bu, an official of KIA. The capture of artillery battalion – 370 still needs confirmation by Major Naw Bu.
KIA comrades confiscated massive heavy weapons and small weapons, including Howitzers, but KIA doesn’t usually state that.
