MYANMAR – The Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management of the National Unity Government (NUG) called the international community to provide support to the people affected by the extremely severe cyclonic storm Mokha.
Cyclone Mokha wreaked Rakhine State on May 14 with a wind speed of up to 120 miles per hour.
On the night of May 14, the Cyclone crossed over Rakhine State, Chin State, Magway and Sagaing Divisions. Many people and IDP camps in various parts of the country were affected by the storm.
On top of the suffering from the deadly cyclone, the terrorist junta council has also been launching attacks towards the people affected by the storm, worsening the situation.
Therefore, the international community has been invited to cooperate with the National Unity Government to provide help and assistance to the people.
For the emergency response to Cyclone Mocha, the National Unity Government has set up a fund of one million dollars and is carrying out relief operations.
