KAREN STATE – The KNU center announced that more civilians were killed and injured due to air strike and heavy weapons attacks in Nyaunglebin District (Khalei Lwi Htoo District).
It was reported about the casualties of civilians and damage to the houses from February 17th to 21st, caused by the military council’s attack in Sawhti (Shwegyin) and Moo (Mone) townships of KNU Nyaunglebin District.
It is said that one civilian was killed and three others were injured due to the airstrikes and heavy weapons attacks committed by the junta council troops targeting the public. In addition, 8 houses, 1 school, 1 monastery and 1 church were damaged.
The junta council army bombed with drones, causing damage to homes and schools in Mone township on February 17th. It is reported that the monastery was burned down and a cow was killed on February 18th, due to the junta council’s heavy weapons, the shell exploded next to Yaytwin Kone Lay village.
Also on February 19th, 3 shells of heavy weapons were fired from Light Infantry Battalion-307 based in Shwewa and fell near the village of Latatgyi, killing a 48-year-old man, injuring three people, including a 5-year-old child, and damaging their homes.
On February 21, the Junta Council conducted two airstrikes and dropped 8 bombs in Hteewarhtar village, Shwegyin township by 2 jet fighters, damaging 1 church and 4 houses according to KNU.
