SAGAING DIVISION – A production camp of a local PDF (People’s Defence Force) near Kyaymhon Village in Monywa Township was reportedly raided by around 70 junta troops on Wednesday (September 6) at around 5 a.m. The junta forces also shot six PDF soldiers and four out of the six had died while the other two are said to be battling for their lives, according to local sources.
The raided camp is said to have belonged to Monywa Peacock Defence Force, Squadron 1, Company 3 of Monywa District Battalion 11, People’s Defence Force South Monywa and Oxygen, the official of the team stated that the four PDF soldiers killed were a member of the team and three members of another LPDF.
“There were seven at the camp at that time. Only one managed to escape. They left them thinking all had died. Only one of the fallen belonged to our team. The others were visitors from other teams,” said Oxygen.
Mr. Nay Maw, the information officer for Monywa Township People’s Administration Body also said that the junta forces burned the camp after raiding it and shooting the PDF soldiers.
Several weapons and ammunition at the camp were also reported to have been destroyed.
In addition, local sources added that junta forces and junta-backed Pyu Saw Htee militia are still staying near that camp.
