SAGAING DIVISION – The Myanmar Political Prisoners Network said that they carried out the campaign to show support for 14 political prisoners who are joining a hunger strike, including all political prisoners.
On Monday (September 11) at 8 a.m., former political prisoners, revolutionary comrades, strike comrades, and the public jointly carried it out.
They carried out the “Iron Saw” campaign to urge the junta council to stop oppressing or murdering inside the prison and to show support for political prisoners who are on a hunger strike.
“We collected photos from all over the country since 8 a.m. to carry out the photo campaign. Some comrades prepared their photos last night and sent them due to a lack of internet connection,” said Mr. Thike Tun Oo.
This campaign has not been carried out before, but they will continue to do so by collaborating with former political prisoners, strike comrades, and revolutionary comrades if political prisoners face injustice.
After the coup, the junta council has been oppressing political prisoners like Nazis and murdering them. That’s why the political prisoners’ network requested public organizations, international organizations, and the public to stand together with them.
Since September 8, political prisoners have been on a hunger strike for three reasons:
To return the political prisoners’ items that were looted by the special investigation.
To permit sending parcels freely to political prisoners.
To take responsibility for the health of political prisoners who are on a hunger strike.
