SAGAING DIVISION – Locals reported that two young men riding a motorcycle were chased by junta troops on a car that tried to crash the bike and shot the youths.
The incident happened at a lane between Bonesoe and Nazar Roads. One of the young men was reportedly killed at the scene.
“Two young men riding on a bike were chased by junta troops in private cars. The cars chased the bike, crashed into it and the junta soldiers shot the young men. One was killed and the other escaped,” said a local.
The deceased seemed to be in his twenties but is still unidentified. His body was reportedly taken by an ambulance.
“The dead body was carried away half an hour later by an ambulance. The junta troops also searched for the escapee all over the town but failed to find him,” stated the local.
After the coup d’état, the junta soldiers have been closing down the roads, arresting people and extorting money at their security gates in Monywa. Unlawful and arbitary shootings and killings are being committed continuously, and at least ten people have died, being shot and killed by the military men while riding a motorcycle in Monywa, stated the locals.
