KACHIN STATE- A KIA source and an official from the People Defense Force – ShweGu, told the media that about 50 bodies of Military Council troops were found after the KIA-led revolutionary forces attacked and captured the Sikhamgyi military strategic camp in Mansi Township last Saturday (February 17).
Starting at 5:00 a.m. on February 17, AA, KIA, SHWEGU, and BAMAW KPDF coalition forces attacked the “Sikhamgyi strategic camp” in Mansi Township, Bamaw District, Kachin State. The military council reportedly defended by using air strikes. At 11:00 a.m. on February 19, the Alliance forces finally occupied the camp.
“Our group found about 15 bodies. We don’t know how many bodies the other groups have found. Arakan Army (AA) Kachin Independence Army(KIA), Shwegu and Bamaw (region) Kachin People Defense Forces reportedly launched the attack. We could find out the junta causalities after adding up the list of bodies each allied group found. Many weapons were also seized. The army aerial bombed the area,” an official from the People Defense Force – ShweGu, told the media.
Similarly, a KIA source said that more than 40 bodies of soldiers were found at the Sikhamgyi strategic camp.
“More than 40 soldiers were killed. Many weapons and ammunition were captured,” said a KIA source.
On February 17, when the KIA and its allies attacked the military council’s Sikhamgyi strategic base in Mansi Township, a junta jet aerial bombed the area, killing 6 and injuring more than 30 civilians, according to an on-ground source.
