KACHIN STATE- A bridge in Mansi Township was reportedly blown up by a mine attack on Thursday morning without any ongoing fight.
The military council bombed and destroyed the locally known “Khaya Kha” bridge. A village clinic and a house were also reportedly damaged.
“In the past, it was a common practice for ethnic revolutionary groups to (blow up a bridge) when military troops enter the region. Ethnic armed forces used to blow down all the bridges along the way of the military column and the headlines of local newspapers saying that the insurgents destroyed the public bridge. Now, it’s reversed. Early this morning, the Shweku Bridge was destroyed by a junta aircraft,” wrote the National Unity Government (NUG) Minister of Natural Resources Dr. Tu Hkawng on his social media account.
The bridge being destroyed in Northern Shan State is located outside Namkham Township and is a bridge that supports the local community. There are opinions that such a bridge was blown up so that the revolutionary groups could not use it.
Revolutionary forces such as KIA, PDF, AA, and ABSDF attacked military council camps in Mansi Township such as Plaung Danser, Kite Htate, Kaung Khan, and Gaungnguyan camps in January and early February, and had confiscated many weapons.
