KACHIN STATE – The junta council carried out airstrikes for two consecutive days at Gel Kham Village, Thantadar Village, and Mansi Village, resulting in the deaths of six civilians and the destruction of a school and many civilian houses, according to a KIA source.
On February 17, joint forces of the KIA, AA, and KPDF attacked the junta camp in Gel Kham Village, prompting the junta council to retaliate with airstrikes.
Also, on February 18, from 7:30 a.m. to 5:20 p.m., clashes intensified between the joint forces of KIA-AA-KPDF and the junta forces, leading to the junta council conducting 26 airstrikes.
“A total of five civilians from Gel Kham Village and one from Thantadar were killed due to the junta’s airstrikes. The battles intensified throughout February 18. The junta council carried out 26 airstrikes, causing extensive destruction to houses and the school. Additionally, the junta’s Y-12 conducted airstrikes, further escalating the conflict,” said a source.
