MANDALAY DIVISION – Local revolutionary forces said that they engaged in battle for over one hour against the junta troops who raided and killed civilians in Myingyan Township, Mandalay Division.
Bo. Mikekae, the leader of Myingyan Black Tiger (MBT) team said that they battled for over one hour against 60 junta forces, who entered and torched the villages and murdered the civilians, at about 7 a.m. on March 14.
He added that more than ten junta soldiers were killed and five were injured in that battle. “I saw the junta dogs (forces) die. We retreated due to their reinforcement arriving. We couldn’t get arsenals but managed to recover the items of villagers that were stolen by junta forces,” said Bo. Mikekae.
That mission was jointly done by Myingyan Black Tiger (MBT) team, No.4 battalion of Myingyan District, People’s Defense Team (Myingyan District), People’s Defense Team (Natogyi Township) and Bo. Sar Guerrilla Force.
A local said that the junta column in question entered Myingyan Town on March 14 noon.
That junta column burnt hundreds of houses in Magyeepinsu, Thinpyun, Satekone, Pyoekan and Kanswel Villages of Myingyan Township from March 11 evening to March 14.
And they(junta) also killed nine civilians including old people and disabled people, stated Myingyan People’s Movement Committee.
On March 11 morning, six junta soldiers died and six weapons and ammunition were seized when a car with junta forces on board was attacked at the entrance of Myingyan Township. After that, the junta council committed arson and murders along the villages.
