SAGAING DIVISION – According to an accountable person of Myinmu Township true news coverage, the junta council troops murdered two civilians and set over 600 houses on fire in Lethtoketaw Village, Myinmu Township, Sagaing division.
It was known that a junta council column raided Lethtoketaw Village at around 7 a.m. on May 6. They murdered two villagers and torched over 600 houses.
The junta council column had torched Lethtoketaw Village from the northern part of the village and also torched the fence around the village. They then left towards Natyaekan Village at around 10 a.m.. At around 11:30 a.m. when the villagers went back into the village to put out the fire, the junta council troops fired heavy weapons at the villagers from Yaypoesarkankway at the west of Gway Pin Taw Village.
The accountable person mentioned that “the junta council convoy that had left from Natyaekan Village, Chaung U Township, raided and torched Lethtoketaw Village. It was known from the locals that there were about 700 households in the village. Over 600 households were burnt down due to the junta council’s arson. Two villagers were also murdered and burnt to death. Many cattles and pigs were also killed.”
