KACHIN STATE – A political source in the Kachin region said that the Kachin Independence Army (KIA) attacked the military council army in the Myitkyina – Bhamo Road section with a mine.
It’s said that the attack took place today (July 25) at 7:45 a.m.
“KIA mines attacked the column coming from Malanyan, which came to meet the reinforcement column from the Dabatyan side. The number of casualties is not known,” said a political source in the Kachin region.
Another local said that the KIA Brigade (1) attacked the Military Council troops coming from Bhamo – Myitkyina Road, Malanyan to Dabatyan, and the Military Council troops had casualties.
Since early July, the KIA and the Military Council Army have been fighting in the Nam Sanyan area of Waingmaw Township, Kachin State. The KIA has been conducting frequent intercept attacks on the reinforcements of the Military Council.
In addition, between July 16 and 23, Locals said that the KIA carried out attacks on the military council troops in the Khayar Taung, Bomrel Taung, Aung Jar Camp, and Midian area, and the military council troops had casualties.
The Military Council also sent reinforcements to the Nam Sanyan region, shooting toward the KIA headquarters area in Laiza with heavy weapons, and airstrikes were carried out on the Nam Sanyan village.
