THAILAND – Pita Limjaroenrat, the Thailand election winner and leader of Move Forward Party, said on March 5 that he wishes to work together with neighbouring countries, including ASEAN, to ease the difficulties of Myanmar people.
He said this after the discussion on Myanmar affairs held at the Thailand parliament from March 2 to 3, led by Move Forward Party.
Pita promised to closely observe the affairs in Myanmar within the authority deferred to him by the Thailand parliament and expressed his wish to cooperate with the ASEAN nations and neighbouring countries to reduce the troubles and difficulties faced by the Myanmar people.
“We promise again to closely observe the situation in Myanmar within the authority deferred by the parliament. To ease the difficulties of the Myanmar people, we, as Thailand, hope to work together with the ASEAN nations, neighbouring countries and other relevant parties. As a peaceful democratic Myanmar is harmonious to the national interest of Thailand, we will, within our authority to enact laws, adjust Thailand’s policies related to Myanmar in support,” said Pita.
On the other hand, the terrorist junta council sent a letter to the Thailand government in secret, protesting the discussion at the Thailand parliament led by Move Forward Party that was attended by the National Unity Government, the National Unity Consultative Council, and the revolutionary organisations including some ethnic armed organisations.
