RAKHINE STATE – According to the locals, the fierce battles broke out between the fascist junta council troops and Arakan Army (AA) near Myanmar-Bangladesh-India border, in the northernmost part of Rakhine state, at around 1 p.m. on November 17.
A local who lived in Aungthapye village mentioned that “the battles started in the afternoon of November 17. Aungthapye border guard camp opened fire towards Aungthapye village. All of the villagers from Aungthapye village have been forced to flee.”
The locals mentioned that there are more than 100 households and around 1000 villagers in Aungthapye village. The villagers from Bandula village where there is more than 60 households and around 500 people, were also force to flee.
The Aungthapye villager continued that “the junta council troops from Aungthapye military camp and Bandula military camp said they will surrender, on November 16. But they didn’t surrender and opened fire towards the civilians’ villages. So, the fierce battles broke out.”
Due to the fierce battles, around 1500 civilians from Aungthapye village and Bandula village have been forced to flee.
At around 12 p.m. on November 16, AA captured Done Nyo border guard camp on Myanmar-Bangladesh-India border and the fascist junta council dropped three bombs using MI-35 aircraft.
