KAREN STATE – Local residents reported that the junta forces are firing heavy artillery at the Pwint Lin Aye Myaing village near the Myawaddy town. The residents were forced to flee their homes and some were injured by the bombarding weapons.
Starting from June 20 morning, the junta forces were firing heavy shells at the Pwint Lin Aye Myaing a.k.a. Tone Tadar village.
“The terrorist military continuously fired heavy shells into the village. Several residents were hit by the exploding shells and were wounded. I learned that someone in the village made a false report that the People’s Defense Forces are in the village to the junta. They are still firing at us. Many of the residents were fleeing on foot and a few were driving their cars and motorcycles to safety,” said a resident of the village.
