TANINTHAYI DIVISION – Residents said that they were handing out leaflets with the lyrics of Maung Lay songs that singer May Hla Myaing had sung in Myeik yesterday (June 24).
In Myeik City’s crowded areas, such as the market, and marina, at bike carrier gates, the governors, municipality staff, traffic police, general administration staff, immigration staff, and the police are distributing these leaflets.
In the pamphlet, the lyrics of the song “Maung Lay” were written to encourage youths from the forest to return home, as well as to provide a reward for those who return to the law with weapons.
In addition, it is also written that the NUG and CRPH are mobilizing people through fear and propaganda and forcing them to carry out terrorist attacks and killings.
A resident said that instead of distributing such pamphlets to PDFs in the forest, distributing them in urban areas is a form of subterfuge and propaganda for those who live in the city.
“They are covering up their crookedness and slandering the revolutionary forces. The people of our town are not as stupid as they think,” said a Myeik resident.
Those leaflets were also distributed in Kawthaung last week.
The pamphlet stated that the singer, May Hla Myaing, sang this song. However, whether the song was sung by this singer or not was not confirmed. The composer of the song is shown as credit.
There are also analysts who say that the junta council’s continuous distribution of pamphlets inviting PDFs shows their weakness.
