MAGWAY DIVISION – In Myaing Township, the Black Panther Army, based in Myaing, said that they planted rice in the fields that were not cultivated by local farmers for the army’s food in Myaing Township.
It is said that on September 10, about 70 people, including troops and local residents, planted rice seedlings on an estimated two acres of farmland.
“Local farmers borrowed the farm land that they don’t cultivate to us so we used those to farm food for the troops,” said Ko MC, a member of the Myaing Company of the Black Panther Army.
He continued that those farms were not cultivated because of the high price of fertilizer and rice seeds, as well as the burning of the fields by the terrorist junta soldiers. He also said that during the rice harvest last year, the terrorist army and its subordinate Pyu Saw Htee militants entered and harvested the ripe rice fields in Myaing Township for their food.
In Myaing Township, up until now, the farmlands near Kanni Village, where most of the Pyu Saw Htee thugs live, neither rice nor crops such as mung beans and chickpeas have not been able planted.
