KAREN STATE – Thai media reports that the Thai army is patrolling the Thai-Myanmar border around the clock as fighting continues throughout the night in Myawaddy township.
Infantry Battalion 275, the last battalion of the junta council in Myawaddy City, was being attacked by revolutionary forces, including the KNLA and the People’s Defense Forces. The fighting is intense and fire from the battleground can be seen. Sounds of explosions and gunshots coming from the fighting on the Myanmar side were heard from Mae Sot, Thai side, Thai media reported.
According to Thai media reports, nearly 500 troops remain in IB 275, and the revolutionary forces are expected to capture the military council camp soon.
The Thai Army and Thai Police deployed military vehicles along the Thai-Myanmar border. They are patrolling all night with convoys. So far, there has been no damage or shelling on the Thai side.
Currently, there are a lot of people fleeing from Myanmar to Mae Sot because of the battle.
