KAREN STATE – After the bomb attack with drones which resulted in casualties of military and civil officers in Myawaddy Township, Karen State, junta council is planning to import large batches of anti-drone weapons and jammers, said a military news source from Nay Pyi Taw.
It has been reported that there were detailed discussion for protection against PDF drones in Nay Pyi Taw and the order came down to import anti-drone weapons and jammers after the death of ten military and civil officers including Lieutenant Colonel Aung Kyaw Min and District Administrator Soe Tint in Myawaddy Township on September 3 evening.
Nay Pyi Taw military news source said, “There have been imports of anti-drone and jammers previously. Those were given to columns and battalions mainly. Now they discussed and planned to give those to departmental offices and even staff’ housings. They have imported from China and also from Israel. This time may be from China.”
Although anti-drone weapons and jammers were mainly given to battalions and columns, it was reported that not enough items were distributed. This planned distribution is also expected to not meet the required number for all departmental offices.
“Although they imported a lot before, they couldn’t distribute enough. This time might be the same. It will probably mainly be installed at police stations and security departments. Cheap and abundant quotes can only be from China,” said Nay Pyi Taw military news source.
In addition, there will also be training courses for protection against drones in military and civil offices, with similar courses expected to be held all over the country very soon.
