MON STATE – Revolutionary forces intercepted and attacked a junta convoy of 18 vehicles headed into Mon State near Ingabo Village in Kyaikhto Township at around 8:05 a.m. on April 9, killing eight terrorist junta soldier and damaging three cars.
In addition, it is said that two junta officers and 19 soldiers were also heavily injured in the attack. On the side of the revolutionary forces, a revolutionary soldier was said to have honourably sacrificed his life for the country.
The attack was carried out by Kyaikhto Revolution Force (KRF), Karen National Union/ Karen National Liberation Army (KNU/KNLA), Kawa People’s Defence Organisation, All Burma Students Democratic Front (ABSDF), PDF Battalion 3 and Kyaikhto People’s Defence Organisation.
Moreover, KRF Nighthawks and PDF Khayan were reported to have attacked a house in front of Letpanpin Cemetery that has become a resting place for junta soldiers with four grenades and three grenades respectively on April 9 around 12:30 p.m. However, it is not yet clear if the attacks resulted in junta casualties.
KRF stated that they will continue fighting till the fall of military dictatorship and vowed to protect the lives and properties of the people with their lives, adding that they won’t carry out any detonation or shooting attack that would harm the people.
