YANGON DIVISION – Residents of Hmawbi Township said that a bomb exploded at the Koelonekwin administration office in front of the military army outpost near the veterans’ residence on Monday morning (April 1).
At 10:45 a.m. on April 1, a bomb reportedly exploded near a veteran’s residence, at an administration office. It is reported that two loud explosions were heard in a row.
“Two bombs went off near the soldier’s market bus stop, widow housing (military veteran), in Hmawbi Township, Yangon. It is not yet known whether there were any casualties but the sound was very loud. No one dared to go near it, so nobody knew what had happened. It was in front of the army, so they dared not speculate the scene,” explained a resident.
According to residents of Hmawbi Township, the military visited the ward office and did some inspections, but no arrests were made and no interrogations were conducted.
On March 30, in Hmawbi Township, a bomb exploded at the entrance to Kalarkone village, killing three trash pickers.
