SAGAING DIVISION – It has been reported that over 15000 internally displaced people (IDP) from Kani township and Yinmarbin township, are in need of rations and medications, in Yinmarbin district, Sagaing division.
The villagers from Saythu, Thanbo, Innpat, Pateinmyin, Kyaukmaw, Sonechaung, Kyunmaw, Hnawpin, Kyawkkone and Kyatshar villages have been forced to flee in Yinmarbin township.
In Kani township, the villagers from Kyunkalay, Yinboe, Nwarchankon, Nattaung, Natmyauk, Daungchan and Ohnpinseik villages have been forced to flee, said the locals.
“The number of IDP has been gradually increasing and not decreasing. The IDP are facing difficulties to immigrate as they (IDP) can’t predict where the junta council column will raid while the weather condition cannot be predicted whether it will rain or it will shine. As the junta council blocked the trade route, even rations were difficult to buy. Many people catch colds and it is not easy to buy the medications,” said Mr. Pyay Aung Naing who assists the IDP.
Moreover, the brutal junta council troops set on fire the medications and the rations for Kani region while it (medications and rations) were stored in Butalin. It has been five times that the fascist junta council troops torched the medications and rations for IDP, said the locals.
The locals continued that the inhumane junta council troops launched offensive attacks on the villages in Kani township, on the morning of August 17.
