YANGON DIVISION – Townships Information Community (TIC) Yangon has warned people not to stay outside until late at night due to arbitrary arrests by the military council in some townships of Yangon.
“We haven’t experienced night-time arrests in our township yet, but I have heard that some townships are experiencing it. So, I posted it to alert the residents of Yangon,” said an admin from the Botahtaung Scout (Telegram) Channel.
A local reported that the military council has been arresting some innocent civilians in the vicinity of Budaryone (Station) Road in Hlaing Township these days.
“The other day, I heard that trishaw drivers who were sitting on Baho Street were arrested. Only one old man was left and all the others were taken by junta troops,” said a resident of Hlaing Township.
At present, Operation 1027 and Operation 1111 are being carried out in ethnic areas, while city-seizing battles are also going on nationwide.
Therefore, Yangon may face the same fate shortly, and TIC has warned people not to go to places and offices related to the military council.
In addition, TIC encouraged civilians to avoid traveling, staying out for fun, or eating out until late at night.
