YANGON DIVISION – Military news sources and local residents reported the sighting of a junta convoy of over 20 vehicles leaving Yangon and heading towards Bago Division while shouting out military songs.
After battles broke out on December 2 and 3 that resulted in the defence forces capturing the town of Mone in Kyaukgyi Township, Bago Division, over 20 military vehicles carrying junta troops from Yangon Division, including those from Mhawbi based battalions, left in the direction of Bago Division.
“Just now, a military convoy heading to the frontline, carrying (fully equipped) soldiers screaming the “Ye Ye Tauk Doe Bamar Tway” song, passed in front of the Hmawbi Market. There were probably over 20 vehicles and each vehicle looked to be carrying around 20 soldiers. They are heading to Bago. Seems like they might be going to Kyaukgyi where there are battles. The (junta) soldiers were fully armed and also had heavy weapons,” said a source.
In addition, five similar junta vehicles carrying fully equipped soldiers were also seen passing through Oakphyat Village in Phyu Township of Bago Division. Local people believe that the cars could be heading towards the town of Mone.
