KARENNI STATE – The junta convoy that came to the place where the junta helicopter crashed was hit by a mine, and there were casualties, according to the release of Karenni People’s Liberation Front (KNPLF) Strategy 1 on May 9.
The video titled, “The junta vehicles that came to help the crashed junta craft was hit by a land mine”, showed a van damaged by a land mine and a pickup 4 wheels truck next to it.
“There is Htoo stream bridge at the intersection of Pon stream and Htoo stream on the Bawlakhe-Hpasawng road. It happened when they were coming from Htoo stream to Bawlakhe Township on May 6. The junta casualties have not been confirmed yet,” said a Karenni military source.
The junta council’s helicopter was shot down in Hpasawng on May 6. Seven junta council members died and two were injured, as confirmed by comrade Lawrin Soe, spokesperson of Karenni People’s Liberation Front (Kalalata-KNPLF)..
“The crashed place is far away. To the east of Pon stream, near Bawlakhe. I think it’s MI 2. It said MI 2 (attack helicopter),” said comrade Lawrin Soe who is also Karenni National People’s Liberation Front
joint general secretary.
The junta council helicopter was shot down by the Karenni forces with two Point (8) missiles, and the junta helicopter crashed in Bawlakhe Township at 11:45 a.m. on May 6, informed Karenni National People’s Liberation Front.
The parts of the helicopter, the death bodies of the junta and the injured people were cleared and carried by taking the air defense.
The helicopter came as reinforcements to the last remaining light infantry battalion (134) and light infantry battalion (135) in Hpasawng, Karenni state.
There are total 8 junta aircrafts shot down by the revolutionary forces after the junta coup, and the Karenni Army shot down 3 among them.
