MAGWAY DIVISION – Hundreds of local people participated in an anti-junta protest demonstration to commemorate the 76th anniversary of Martyrs’ Day in Yesagyo Township, according to Urban Underground Revolution.
The locals joined forces with revolutionary groups and protested in the village, shouting slogans for the downfall of the junta dictatorship in a village in Yesagyo Township starting from 7:00 a.m. on Wednesday (July 19).
“At first, we only planned to hold a ceremony to commemorate Martyrs’ Day. But then people asked us to hold a protest, and so we added an anti-junta protest. By looking at this, it’s clear how much the people hate the junta council,” said Mr. Rahu, who is in charge of the Urban Underground Revolution.
It is said that the ceremony was held in order to end the junta dictatorship as soon as possible and to win the revolution, to make sure people won’t forget about Martyrs’ Day and the revolution.
In commemoration of Martyrs’ Day, talks on the history and political events related to Martyr’s Day, offering food to the monks, and treating the people who attended the ceremony with Mont Hin Kha were carried out.
