MAGWAY DIVISION – The terrorist junta convoy of Major Than Htay, a member of the junta council’s Township Administration Team for Yenangyaung Township was attacked with mines, killing five junta soldiers and Pyu Saw Htee militants and also heavily injuring the junta officer, according to an official from Magway District Battalion 2.
On May 5 around 4 a.m., the junta convoy of around 30 was moving along the Nyaungzaukchauk Road, Moepawkan in Yenangyaung Township to Monkan Village in Magyeeyoe Village Tract when it was blasted at Sinkawyoe intersection while reinforcements from Yargyipyin Intaw Road were attacked at the exit of Oatshitkone Village.
“After the mine attack, the heavily injured and the deads were immediately sent to Magway. We don’t have any updates yet. After the mine blast, they fired recklessly into the surroundings. One of those recklessly fired shells, a 60mm shell landed at the entrance of Kywelpote Village which is right next to Monkan Village. But no civilians were injured,” said the official from Magway District Battalion 2.
The mine attack is said to have killed five junta and Pyu Saw Htee forces while Major Than Htay, member of the Yenangyaung Township Administration Team, was heavily wounded and sent immediately to Magway.
That terrorist junta convoy reportedly returned to Yenangyaung after spending two nights in Monkan Village and another two nights in Oatshitkone Village.
The above attacks were carried out by Yenangyaung People’s Defence Team, Magway District Battalion 2, Yenanthar Youth Force (YYF), Nyaung U District Battalion 4 and Magway District Strike Force.
