MAGWAY DIVISION – Locals reported that two displaced persons chopping firewood were injured by the junta’s drone attack on Pauktaw Village in Yaylalkyun area, Yesagyo Township.
Junta troops and their subordinate Pyu Saw Htee militia group surveilled the Pauktaw Village border and dropped two energa grenades during the drone attack.
“Only the civilians are in the area. Some (went to the forest and) try to collect some wood. The drone came out from Patta Village on the eastern shore of the Irrawaddy River. Two people were reportedly injured, but not seriously, in the blast” said the resident.
About ten locals who tried to collect wood for the displaced persons near Pauktaw Village were attacked by said drone attack and two residents of Nayyin Village were reportedly injured in the attack.
Since March 2022, more than 1,300 people from three villages in the Yaylalkyun area have reportedly been displaced due to junta raids and shootings up until now.
