SAGAING DIVISION – Junta council soldiers launched an offensive on the ground and carried out airstrikes on Monday (February 19) at 9:05 a.m., forcing tens of thousands of civilians from the border villages between Ye-U and Taze Townships, said Mr. Htoo Khant Zaw, an official of Ye-U PDF (Mother’s Son).
The junta council carried out airstrikes near Ywar Tha Village and Yadanar Village using Mi-35 gunships, and the ground offensives forced civilians to flee.
Currently, tens of thousands of civilians from Phalan Gon, Kan Pouk, Si Tha Myay, Pan Kon, Bo Yone, Sat Tay, Inn Taw, Tuu Maung, Wat The, Min Maung Kone, Ywar Htaung Ywar, Ywar Thayar, Yadanar, Chaung Yoe, Htan Taw, Thapyay Pin, Ywar Kye, Gway Hmaw Kone, and Kone Yoe Villages at the border of Ye-U and Taze Townships are displaced.
“The junta gunship Mi-35 from the northwestern junta headquarters carried out airstrikes near Ywar Tha Ywar and Yadanar Village at the border of Ye-U and Taze Townships. The casualties couldn’t be confirmed, and the civilians are fleeing. Last night, junta soldiers were stationed at Tuu Maung Village and left for Ywar Tha Ywar and Yadanar Village in Taze Township,” said Mr. Htoo Khant Zaw.
Currently, junta soldiers are at Ywar Tha Ywar and Yadanar Villages, and it’s unknown where they could be heading.
