SAGAING DIVISION – According to an accountable person of Chaung U People’s Defense Force, Mr. Lu Shaw, the junta council dropped five 500-pound bombs onto a school, using fighter jet in Ye-U township, Sagaing division, on the afternoon of May 9.
Mr. Lu Shaw mentioned that the junta council dropped high intensity 500-pound bombs onto Tinteinyan-Htantaw Bawdi school in the western part of Ye-U township, at around 2 p.m. on May 9.
He added that “They (junta council troops) had come and launched airstrike onto Htantaw Bawdi school at around 2 p.m. It is difficult to say the exact number of casualties as they could launch airstrike anytime. There will be casualties as the bombs they dropped were high-intensity bombs.”
He said that there was no any ongoing battle when the junta council launched aerial bombardments and they don’t know the exact number of the casualties at the time of speaking.
The S&C assistance group which helps IDP (internally displaced people) in Sagaing division, mentioned that there was no casualties of the children as the children had already left the school when the junta council launched airstrike.
Ye-U people defense force has warned the civilians to beware the junta council’s airstrike as the junta council’s reconnaissance aircrafts are currently flying over the western part of Ye-U.
