SAGAING DIVISION – The junta offensives and shellings have caused tens of thousands of people from over 30 villages in the townships of Ye U, Tabayin, Shwebo and Khin U to flee their homes, stated Mr. Htoo Khant Zaw (Amaethar) from Ye U based People’s Defense Comrade.
At around 9:30 p.m. on Monday (July 31), the joint junta column of light infantry battalion 708 and 702 launched an offensive into the villages at the border of Ye U and Tabayin Townships in four trucks.
And at present, tens of thousands of villagers from villages such as Mutharkone, Ywartharlay, Kokkosu, Pauktha, Salgyi, Pitakatkya, Zeintzun, Chaungpauk, Aungchantha, Thayettaw, Maloh, Latyetkone, Mukhatwin, Nyaunggyikone, Nhabaehla, Kankone, Walgyi, Nyaunghla, Thapyaytha, Latsal and Konegyi at the border of Ye U and Tabayin Townships are fleeing.
Similarly, villagers in western Shwebo Township have also fled into Tabayin Township as the terrorist junta column at Seikkhun Village in western Shwebo have moved towards Htansin and Ponnakone Villages.
In addition, the terrorist junta council troops stationed at the traditional hospital in Ye U Town fired heavy artillery shells towards Mutha Village in western Khin U Township, causing the civilians from the villages in western Khin U to flee overnight.
“Over 10,000 civilians from more than 30 villages in four townships have been made to flee. The junta dogs (soldiers) were launching offensives overnight to re-enter Ye U Township and the people had to flee overnight,” said Mr. Htoo Khant Zaw (Amaethar).
