SAGAING DIVISION – One junta fighter jet from the Tada-U airport carried out airstrikes without a battle near the monastery and the school in Yay Myat Village, Ye-U Township, on Monday (July 10) at around 10:02 a.m.
That attack destroyed one pagoda and many other Buddha Statues.
“The umbrella of one pagoda and at least five Buddha Statues were destroyed. Some huge trees in the school were also damaged. The junta council dropped three bombs which have 500 pounds. The one which dropped near Dhamayone didn’t explode. The two were exploded near the monastery and the school. They also fired around the village by using heavy machine guns,” said Mr. Htoo Khant Zaw (Mother’s Son), an official of People’s Defense Comrade, which is based in Ye-U Township.
