SHAN STATE (SOUTH) – The civilians from six villages of Ywangan Township who have been fleeing war for a year are in need of food, medicine and warm clothes, said a person helping the displaced people.
Among the 37 families fleeing war, pregnant women and elderly people are also involved and there are a total of 121 people.
“I haven’t asked for a donation from anyone yet. It’s been over a year and the situation is slowly getting worse. I’m helping as much as I can, but it’s still not enough,” explained the person helping those displaced people.
Civilians from Peyintaung, Nwarbangyi, Myatkharinn, Taungoopayar and Thae poe Villages of Ywangan Township had to flee after their houses were torched or sealed off by junta army and are facing difficulties since it has been over a year now.
Local residents said that the terrorist military council troops invaded and searched some villages in Ywangan Township, threatened and planted landmines around the villages to prevent the civilians from entering the plantations.
