KACHIN STATE – Fascist junta army fired heavy weapons towards Ward 3 of Shwegu Town resulted injuring two civilians, local residents reported.
The military council troops who were in ambush said to have fired heavy artilleries into the town at about 10 p.m. on December 29. The artilleries fell into Aungtawmu Pagoda compound and Bodhi monastery compound and wounded a local woman and a man.
“The wounded people were sent to hospital. We don’t know the details which part of bodies were injured,” said a local resident.
The victims were Mr. Than Myat Soe and Ms. Mi Saung, who have been living near Aungtawmu Pagoda.
In addition, the brick wall of Aungtawmu Pagoda was also reportedly damaged and some shrapnels hit civilians’ houses.
Shwegu Town is located at the bank of Irrawaddy River. It is a township where civilians’ homes were being burned down the most by barbaric junta army after the military coup.
