SAGAING DIVISION – Local people say that thousands of people are fleeing from the villages in Shwebo Township because of the terrorist army’s unprovoked firing of heavy weapons.
On April 5th, at around 8:00 a.m., after 2 military vehicles carrying rations arrived at Minkone Monastery in the west of Shwebo with a force of about 40 soldiers, these terrorist soldiers were firing indiscriminately at the nearby villages with heavy weapons.
The shells fired by the terrorist army hit North Chipa, Kimbya and Obo villages. It was reported that thousands of people living in the villages had to flee to safety because of the explosions.
A local resident said, “2 cars and 30 war dogs arrived at the place of about 40 war dogs stationed at Minkone Monastery in the west of Shwebo. When they were delivering food, they continued to shoot with heavy weapons. These shells fell in the eastern fields of North Chipa village. People are fleeing because the shells of heavy weapons continue to fall between Kimbya village and Obo village,” said a local resident.
At present, residents of North Chipa, Kimbya and Obo villages have fled to safety, and it is not yet confirmed whether the people were affected by the explosion of the weapon, and the electricity lines have been cut, according to local residents.
