SAGAING DIVISION – According to the locals, as the fascist junta council troops which were stationed in Shwe Dar monastery recklessly fired the heavy weapons, the local residents from four villages have been forced to flee. Shwe Dar monastery is located on the road side of Shwebo-Seikkhun road.
On the night of February 21, the atrocious junta council troops fired the heavy weapons towards the civilian places with no apparent reason. Due to the heavy weapon attacks, the civilians have to flee overnight.
A local mentioned that “they (the junta council troops) fire heavy weapons towards the villages, during the night time. Last night (on the night of February 21) they fired around 10 rounds of shelling. They also fired on the previous nights but not as much as last night. As the civilians are afraid that heavy weapon shelling would land over them, they have been fleeing.”
Due to the junta council’s heavy weapon attacks, the civilians from Oebo, Kinbyar, Chipar (South) and Chipar (North) villages have been forced to flee. It has been only a few days since the fascist junta council troops retreated and the civilians returned to the houses. But they have to flee again as the junta council troops are conducting heavy weapon attacks towards the villages.
