SAGAING DIVISION – Junta council troops shot dead five civilians in Kinbyar Village of Shwebo Township and set fire to the whole village, reported the local civilians.
The terrorist junta troops raided Kinbyar Village last Thursday (June 15) and shot dead a family of three Kinbyar villagers, one resident of Ohbo Village and one yet to be identified civilian at Aungmyittar Bridge located at the western part of the village.
“Those shot dead (by junta troops) were a family of three from our village (Kinbyar Village), one from Ohbo Village and one from another village. They were shot dead at Aungmyittar Bridge at the west end of the village. The villager cremated them after the junta dogs (soldiers) left the village,” shared a resident.
Said terrorist junta column, after murdering the five civilians, reportedly destroyed several houses in the village on June 15, set up camp in the village on June 16 then left the village on June 17 afternoon but re-entered the village around 7 p.m. on that evening and set fire to the entire village starting with the houses in the western part of the village.
“The junta dogs departed the village and re-entered at night then torched the entire village. The whole village had just over 200 houses,” said a resident.
Kinbyar Village with over 200 houses is home to a population of around 400. Currently, all the villagers are said to have fled their homes.
